Today we have the Hieronymus Bosch tarot by Travis McHenry (@travis.mchenry on Instagram). At a glance, I see this as a progression of maturity – you’ve moved from relying on people like a young child, into a very teenage spot – hanging out with your friends. My question for you: have you matured into the lady on the left with the enormous pomegranate or the one on the right looking longingly at it? If you have enough to share, make sure the people close to you have enough to get by. If you identify more with the lady who doesn’t have anything to share, be mindful that there’s nothing wrong with accepting help if it’s offered. It doesn’t mean you’re moving backwards in life – that childhood card is over.
I love it when decks come with a proper book! I don’t tend to consult the book until I’ve looked at the artwork enough to have a theory about what it’s trying to say. The keywords for both pages speak talk about relationships. I read its progression as being one from friendship to romantic attachment. These are not mutually exclusive interpretations.
One thing I enjoy about the tarot is that there is no right/wrong answer. You see what you see and hopefully you take something from it. Whether you see a coming of age story or a romantic tale or something completely different, you’re neither right nor wrong.
